Book Box and Seed Exchange

The Book Box on Front Street started its journey in 2021 when Will Hathway, a pupil at Churchill Academy was looking for an interesting local DofE voluntary project. With the support of the parish council, a new coat of lovely red paint, some fantastic hand built shelves, the old telephone box was beautifully repurposed. The bookbox is stocked by regular donations from the community.

You are welcome to donate one or two books, very recent bestsellers, interesting recipe books or just a great up to date book you would love to share. There are also often non-fiction, DVDs, magazines and children’s books in the box. A seed bank where you can donate and swap both flower and vegetable seeds is also kept in the box. Please come and have a browse next time you are walking through the village and see if there is something you would like to read. You can follow the bookbox on Instagram for updates.
