FINAL NOTICE OF EXTENSION TO TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council, in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, has made an order to temporarily close the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services and works access.
This closure was required due to environmental reasons and the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by the University of Bristol for a scientific study. The initial order came into force on the 15th January 2024 for a period of 6 months. The Secretary of State has now approved a further extension for the footpath closure until the 14th January 2025. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs and fencing will be displayed when the measures are in force.
