A home energy survey is a great first step to making your home more sustainable, helping you to save energy and money in the long term.
There are exclusive £250 discounts available for home surveys in North Somerset. With a survey, you can better understand the upgrades you could make to improve the energy efficiency of your home, sometimes called ‘retrofit.’
To be eligible for £250 off a home survey, you must:
- Live in North Somerset.
- Own your home.
- Be able to book and complete your survey by 31 December 2024.
Why have an energy efficiency survey?
The UK has the oldest housing stock in Europe, which is part of the character and charm of our heritage. However, old buildings often need particular care when it comes to reducing heat loss and damp. Knowing the right action to save energy bills and cut carbon can be difficult.
Home surveys help you to pinpoint your home’s specific problems, so you know where to start with making improvements. You’ll learn the steps you need to take to fix issues, appropriate energy improvement measures like insulation and draughtproofing, and what renewable energy technologies – like heat pumps and solar panels – could work for your home and circumstances.
Home energy surveys available
There are several survey options for you to choose from depending on your budget and the level of detail you need. The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) – the charity offering the discount – is working with two survey providers: Chapter 2 Architects and its in-house team.
Regardless of the survey you pick, a trained professional will visit your home, conduct the survey, and create a bespoke report filled with valuable insights and advice.
If you’re interested in finding out where your home loses heat a Thermographic Imaging Survey might be for you. Or, if you’re interested in a whole-house approach – looking at your building, energy efficiency, how you use and lose heat, plus recommendations for changes – then a Home Energy Efficiency Planner or Retrofit Opportunities Plan might be more suitable.
Explore your survey options and follow the instructions to book.
