The innovative thermal camera loan service, available through North Somerset libraries, has returned.
Residents who are library members can borrow one of these easy-to-use thermal cameras to inspect their homes using infrared technology. This can help identify and fix heat loss problem spots, reducing carbon emissions and saving money on energy bills.
In North Somerset, energy consumption in homes accounts for 23% of greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing energy use is a crucial part of the commitment to tackling the climate emergency and reaching net zero by 2030.
The camera loan service was extremely popular when it launched last year. This winter, priority will be given to customers already on the waitlist before new requests are accepted.
The cameras are available to borrow for free from North Somerset libraries, including the mobile library service. For more information, visit your local library or our website at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/thermalcamera.
