Councillors Jan Murray and Mimi Simpson visited the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity on Wednesday 22 July after Churchill Parish Council was kindly invited to tour its facilities following the council’s recent donation.
The visit gave the councillors an opportunity to see first hand how the charity operates and to learn more about the vital work carried out by its crews. They met members of the team, toured the facilities and gained an insight into the specialist equipment, training and rapid response needed to deliver lifesaving emergency care across the region.
The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity provides critical care to people with life threatening illnesses and injuries across Bristol, Bath, North East Somerset, Gloucestershire and parts of North Somerset. Its highly skilled crew of doctors, specialist paramedics and pilots can bring hospital level treatment directly to patients when every minute counts. As an independent charity, it relies heavily on donations from local communities, businesses and organisations to continue its lifesaving work.
