Footpath AX14/15/10, Churchill: Temporary Closure Continues
North Somerset Council has issued a further temporary closure notice for Footpath AX14/15/10 in Churchill, commencing on 16th September 2026.
The footpath will remain closed to pedestrians along its full length to allow Vistry Homes to carry out excavation works associated with the development, subject to any necessary planning consent.

How long will it be closed?
This temporary notice covers a period of up to 21 days. However, North Somerset Council has advised that the works are expected to take longer than 21 days.
A further traffic regulation order is due to come into force on 6th October 2026, with the closure currently expected to continue for approximately two months, subject to the progress of the works.
Alternative walking route
Pedestrians should use the A38 footway southbound towards Jews Lane, then Footpath AX14/17/10.
Continue east along AX14/9/10, which merges into AX14/4/20, before heading north on AX14/8/10 towards Bath Road.
Please follow the temporary pedestrian signs and do not enter the closed section while works are taking place.
