- Half Yard closure from 24 August
Half Yard in Langford is expected to close at Blackmoor Bridge from Monday 24 August for approximately six days.
North Somerset Council will rebuild a damaged wall. Emergency, works and property access will be maintained where safe.

- Churchill and Sandford footpath closures
Phased closures began on 17 August for work to upgrade several public footpaths. The affected routes include paths around Churchill Green, Greenhill Road, Church Lane, Ladymead Lane and Broadoak Road.
The programme may continue for around four months. Individual paths should only close when required. Residents should follow local signs and marked alternatives.

- Important bus changes from 30 August
Residents who use local services should check their journeys before Sunday 30 August.
• Service 125 between Weston-super-Mare, Winscombe and Wrington will be withdrawn.
• Service 125s between Winscombe and Churchill Academy will be withdrawn.
• The U2 between Bristol, Langford and Weston-super-Mare will have a revised timetable.
• The Wrington WESTlink zone will expand to include Sandford and Winscombe from 31 August.

- Ladymead Lane closure from 2 September
Ladymead Lane in Langford is due to close from Wednesday 2 September for approximately three days. Work is scheduled between 8am and 5pm while Bristol Water installs a new supply.

- Mead Lane advance notice
Mead Lane in Sandford is due to close between Station Road and the new residential development access from Thursday 3 September.
The work involves construction of a new footway and associated highway improvements. The programme is expected to last around 57 days, although the road may not remain closed throughout that period.

Events and community news
- Temporary mobile library arrangements
From Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 August, the mobile library will use a smaller temporary vehicle while the usual vehicle receives scheduled maintenance.
The usual stops will continue, but the service will primarily offer reservation Click & Collect, with limited browsing stock. Children can still take part in the Summer Reading Challenge.
Look out for the white and blue Safer Stronger North Somerset vehicle.

- Master Composter applications close on Sunday
North Somerset residents can apply to become volunteer Master Composters until 6pm on Sunday 23 August.
No previous expertise is required. Training takes place at Yeo Valley Organic Gardens on Tuesday 1 September.

Under-16s can travel free on almost all qualifying local buses until Sunday 6 September.
No registration or pass is required. Some premium and cross-boundary journeys are excluded.
