Changes to the road layout at Churchill junction

We’re sharing this update on behalf of North Somerset Council about changes covered by a traffic order that comes into effect on 1 January 2027.

The changes include:

• A new bus gate between the A368 Dinghurst Road and A38 Bristol Road, allowing all buses to pass through.
• A left turn only restriction when leaving Jews Lane onto Bath Road.
• Removal of the current one-way restriction on Bath Road near Churchill junction.
• Changes to weight restrictions to accommodate the new road layout.

North Somerset Council made the order on 8 October 2026. This is confirmation of the order, rather than a public consultation.

The notice also explains that anyone wishing to challenge the legal validity of the order must apply to the High Court within six weeks of the date it was made.
